Running IT Projects in an IT Service Management Environment

| Abstract |
Have you thought about what happens to your IT deliverables after the project is over? Your project is temporary, but your deliverables will likely live on for some time. Who do you deliver them to? What structures are in place to support what you have built? Stepping back a bit, during the project, what resources and processes within IT Service Management (ITSM) do project managers and their teams interact with? Stepping back even further, is there anything ITSM can offer as you plan your projects? We will start at the beginning and step through the project management practice’s relationship with ITSM. You will be a more effective Project Manager if you understand key aspects of the ITIL framework for IT Service Management.

| Speaker Bio |
Kevin Finke, PMP, has operated in the IT industry for over 25 years and has managed projects for almost 20 of those years. He is a member of the SWO chapter of PMI. He has worked in several industries, including manufacturing as well as both healthcare provider and healthcare insurance. He has watched ITIL grow from its infancy to the framework it is today. Kevin is certified in ITIL Foundation and is an active ITIL V3 Foundation instructor.
